Signs to watch at your school

Signs to watch at your school

Companies sometimes go bankrupt. Schools sometimes go broke.

It’s hard to know exactly when (and if) this will happen, but there are three signs to watch:

  • High teacher turnover: it means others might know something you don’t.
  • Delay in payments: it either implies subpar administration or cash flow problems.
  • Reassuring language not sustained by fact: “We care about you as a teacher” followed by dismissal notices. “We are an established company” with no proof to show how.

If any of these three happen, start looking for another job. If two happen, get out now. If it’s all three, contact your union!
